🪢 Rope Length Calculator
The right rope length is the cheapest accuracy upgrade there is. Set your height, pick your level.
Double-check with the classic test: stand on the middle of the rope with one foot — the handles should reach your armpits. Shorter rope = faster rotation but less forgiveness.
Sizing FAQ
A good starting point is your height plus 91 cm (3 feet) for beginners, height plus 76 cm (2.5 feet) once you're consistent, and height plus 61 cm (2 feet) for speed work. Confirm with the stand-on-rope test: stand on the middle of the rope — for beginners the handles should reach your armpits.
A long rope is more forgiving but slower: it drags on the floor, makes double unders harder, and encourages wide arm positions. Trim or size down once your timing is consistent.
You'll catch your feet constantly and have to jump higher or hunch. If the handles don't reach at least your hip bones in the stand-on test, the rope is too short for any level.
